The Year In Review
My interests are twofold: identity construction and iconograhy. Using myself as a test subject, I document daily interactions – conversations, emails, art critique exchanges – and insert them into pop cultural structures for purposes of analysis.
In The Year In Review, I synthesized this raw material into a “disco concept album” format (a la Giorgio Moroder). I composed music with an electronic producer, shot short films to accompany the tracks, pressed vinyl, and staged live multimedia performances.
The subject matter is at times acutely personal (a curatorial rejection, a list of art projects I will never execute) but my intent is that it broadens out into universal themes of alienation, desire, and endless hope.
